ABOUT THE BAND
THE DEFEKTERS
The Defekters are a UK based, Psychedelic/ Reggae/ Dub/ Punk band. The four members came together from the back streets of their hometown, Stevenage, and from years of kicking around the local music scene together...
The Defekters, have been billed alongside some of the scenes top acts including, Zion Train, NOFX, The Skints, New Town Kings, Gentlemans Dub Club, Jimmy Cliff, Dirty Revolution, King Prawn and many more at some of the UK's top venues and festivals, including the, Jazz cafe (Camden) for The London International Ska Festival, as well as main Stage performances at Beatherder Festival, Silverstone Formula 1 & Moto GP, with appearances at Boomtown Fair, Sunrise and Equinox festival to name a few.
The Defekters are being played globally on numerous radio stations, including a live set on BBC Introducing in the UK.
To date the band have released 3 EP's 'Rise Up',' Violated' and NEW EP 'Ghettoblaster' and will be recording their first full studio album in late 2016 for release in 2017.
The band are now embarking on their first European dates starting in Germany in 2016. The Defekters are now available for both national and international bookings.

The Defekters have released their 3rd, 5 track EP ' Ghettoblaster', with Manchester based, Pumpkin Records. The EP is available on CD and Digital Download online from The Defekters Bandcamp or Pumpkin Records in February 2016,

SECRET GARDEN PARTY 2016
The Defekters are pleased to announce that they will be bringing their sounds to The Secret Garden Party this year, in the Rhumba Rum bar on Friday 22nd July. This is an amazing festival the band have been hoping to get to for the last few years... So you can expect a big show! BOOMTOWN FAIR - CHAPTER 8
The Defekters are made up to have been asked to join Boomtown Fair's amazing lineup this year. Boomtown, homes one of the strongest festival line ups in the festival calendar, this year see's acts such as Fat Freddy's Drop, Fun Lovin Criminals, Madness, Damian Marley and many many more, will be gracing the numerous stages across the 10 Boomtown city districts. This year, you can find The Defekters, in the Chinatown Courtyard, on Friday afternoon (12th August).
